FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS :
1. What is a driving program? It is a one day or half a day program during which you will experience great moments, driving an authentic Grand Prix Formula 1 or Formula 3 one seater or a three seater F1.
2 Will I really drive?
First of all you will have to learn the basic vehicle driving techniques with our qualified instructors and then you will get the opportunity to practise all of that: it’s your turn to get behind the wheel of a real Formula 3 or Formula 1 on the most prestigious circuits!
3 How many laps will I run during the day?
During that special day you will run 12 to 20 laps with the Formula 3 and 3 to 15 laps in F1 depending on the program you chose.
Regarding the F1, you may think that 3 laps is little but don’t forget you’re not a high level sportsman and your physical condition will not afford more than 5 laps in a row.
Most of our drivers are exhausted after 5 consecutive laps.
4 Can we choose our one seater?
Our available one seater fleet depends on revisions and on the different events we are organising all over the world, so we can not guarantee you which racecar you will drive during your program.
Anyway, we also choose one seater depending on each driver’s morphology.
5 Which program to choose?
We offer several programs on many race tracks.
Formula3 experience: DIJON, La BRESSE, or ALES are very technical race tracks knowing that DIJON is the most demanding one.
Dreux, Marcoussis are shorter and really meant for driving schools.
Formula 1 experience: MAGNY-COURS “Club” is The school track to experience the driving of an F1 in total safety.
For the passionate ones, MAGNY-COURS “Grand Prix” track and BARCELONA are technically demanding tracks but they make you feel like a real Formula one driver!
6 Can I change the number of laps?
During the day, in agreement with your instructor, you will be able to add laps to your program (that will have to be paid on site).
7 How do you count laps?
A lap is a start from the stands and return to the stands. For example, when you have a 3 laps program, you will leave the stands pass twice in the straight line of the stands and then return to the stands.
8 How many cars are on the track at the same time?
6 Formula 3 on the track at the same time and 3 Formula 1 at the same time to reduce the collision risks.
9 What does the price include?
See details of the chosen program.
10 Can I offer a driving experience program without setting the date?
Of course you can! The reservation will be valid one year round from the day of reception of your payment.
11 How do I make a reservation and what do I have to pay?
To make a reservation, you can directly pay on the website www.lrs-formula.com, or fill in the form and send it back with your check payment, or visit our offices in Magny Cours and Geneva.
12 How to be sure about my reservation?
As soon as we receive the payment of the balance we will send you a confirmation of your registration, your program of the D day, and some practical information about your driving program.
13 Am I insured? Do I have to take insurance?
Mechanics sports are usually not covered by your personal insurance.
LRS FORMULA is insured with the A.C.L. Cie, located 59 rue de l’Abondance, LYON, France, through a comprehensive insurance policy for professionals, covering the following elements:
CL circulation of F1 “school” vehicles, including personal CL of vehicle users;
Professional CL as driving School & training Manager on different European tracks; Individual CL for accidents involving drivers of insured vehicles (insured capital: 15 245 € in case of death, 15 245 € in case of permanent disability, including a 10% relative deduction).
As a result, the trainee waives the right to seek LRS FORMULA’s liability in respect of amounts fixed above the subscribed coverages. Each trainee shall sign a document limiting LRS FORMULA’s liability to the above mentioned coverages for the “individual accident” part.
Potential damages: In order to cover any damage caused by a trainee to one or several cars, the trainee shall be required to make out a deposit cheque payable to LRS FORMULA on the day of the crash and corresponding to the sum of the deductible amounting to 4 000 € including VAT (for Warm-up and Grand-Prix programs), or to 2 000 € including VAT (for F3 and Race3 trainings). If the amount of damages is inferior to the above mentioned sum, LRS FORMULA shall refund the debtor with a cheque of the difference. Deductibles may be partially redeemed by insurances as follows:
- F1 Deduction amounting to 4 000 €: Insurance coverage of 190 € including VAT (F1 deduction of 1 000 €)
- F3 Deduction F3 amounting to 2 000 €: Insurance coverage of 100 € including VAT (F3 deduction of 500 €)
Delay or cancellation: If the trainee cancels his/her program, LRS FORMULA shall not refund the 50% deposit, except in case of a specific commercial contract between LRS FORMULA and the trainee. In case of cancellation less than fifteen days prior to the beginning of the training, or in the event of a “no-show” on the first day of the program, the trainee shall not be entitled to any reimbursement.
14 Is the driving day cancelled in case of bad weather?
First of all, a driving day is never cancelled but deferred and only exceptionally: important rain for F3 and wet ground for F1.
In case of rain, only the instructors will be able to evaluate the safety conditions and decide to continue or interrupt the program.
In case of interruption of the program, we will offer you another date to finish what you have started.
15 What do I have to bring to my driving experience day?
We will provide you with the whole driver’s equipment: hoods, helmet, gloves, clothes, and boots.
You can also bring your own equipment, but we will have to make sure it’s valid to the French and European standards.
16 May I come with guest(s)?
Tracks access is highly regulated. The only persons who can access the track are those who subscribed a guest pass. Those persons can also access the pitlane, open-bar, restaurant and all the infrastructures of the track.
You will be able to purchase a maximum of 3 passes per driver to avoid the stands clogging.
17 I’m a woman, I won’t know how to do, I’m going to be ridiculous,…I won’t succeed!
More than 20% of our drivers are women and we hope that
18 Do I have to arrive the day before?
The day starts early in the morning (7:45), so we advise you to sleep near the track. You will receive a hotel list with you confirmation of registration.
